Aprilia RS 660
2025 Aprilia RS 660: 105 hp twin-cylinder sports bike, 183 kg, €11,900 (Factory €14,100). Full specs, press reviews and rivals.
At a glance
The Aprilia RS 660 is a 659 cc, 105 hp twin-cylinder sports bike, the best equipped in its class with an IMU, two-way quickshifter and cruise control as standard. Priced at €11,900 (€14,100 for the Öhlins-equipped Factory), it wins over reviewers with its chassis and its engine revised for 2025. Its price, higher than its rivals', is its main drawback.

Press ratings
One of the sharpest middleweight sports bikes, with unobtrusive, effective electronics and a quality finish; Öhlins suspension firm in town, heat at a standstill, harsh quickshifter on low-rpm downshifts.
Exemplary, progressive chassis, full and docile engine, fast quickshifter; the Factory makes sense for the track, the standard bike is enough on the road.
Characterful engine, precise and forgiving chassis, easy-to-modulate brakes; slightly slippery seat, adequate protection.
Press synthesis
What the world’s press says
Tests of the 2025 generation almost all cover the Factory version, which shares the standard bike’s engine, frame and electronics. MCN rates it 4/5 and Motorcycle.com 89/100. Motorcyclist, Moto.it and inSella tested it without a numeric score. No French magazine has published a test of the 2025 generation.
What reviewers like: a benchmark chassis, a fuller midrange, comprehensive and unobtrusive electronics, the brakes, the finish and versatility between road and track.
What they criticise: a price above its rivals’, firm Öhlins suspension around town on the Factory, a harsh quickshifter on low-rpm downshifts, an unintuitive screen interface and a size poorly suited to tall riders.
Key quotes
"among the new breed of twins nothing matches the Factory’s combination of easy road riding or pin-sharp track action, and it’s a definitive step-up over the previous model."
"the previous model’s midrange flat spot is completely filled by a thumping, driving, linear power delivery"
"The 2026 Aprilia RS 660 Factory balances two opposing goals quite well, those being practicality and seriousness."
"The RS 660 Factory makes you want to suit up, find a clean stretch of road, and chase apexes for hours."
"Excellent chassis: the RS has a precise front end and drops quickly into a lean, it is quick to tighten its line and reach the apex, allowing high cornering speeds."

- Precise, effective chassis
- 105 hp engine with a fuller midrange
- Comprehensive standard electronics (IMU, quickshifter, cruise control)

Our review
What is the 2025 model year?
The second-generation RS 660, unveiled in November 2024 and in dealerships from March 2025, is Euro 5+ homologated. Its throttle bodies grow from 48 to 52 mm and its power from 100 to 105 hp. It also gets a redesigned fairing with a wing below the screen, launch control, a 5-inch TFT screen and backlit switchgear. The IMU, quickshifter and cruise control have been standard since 2021.
It is also offered as a Factory version with fully adjustable Öhlins suspension. In France, the standard RS 660 is sold as a 2025 model and the Factory as a 2026 model, which only brings a new Shakedown Yellow livery.
How much does it cost?
Aprilia France lists the RS 660 at a recommended €11,900 (€10,900 with the discount valid until 31 October 2026), in Blue Marlin or Venom Yellow. The Factory costs €14,100 (€13,100 with the discount). The 35 kW versions for the A2 licence cost the same. In the United States, the RS 660 costs $11,849 and the Factory $14,149.
How good is the engine?
The 659 cc 270-degree parallel twin, derived from the RSV4’s V4, makes 105 hp (77.2 kW) at 10,400 rpm and 70 Nm at 8,400 rpm. According to MCN, the previous model’s midrange flat spot is now filled. Motorcycle.com notes a slight dip on the US version, linked to local noise regulations.
How does it ride?
At 183 kg kerb weight with a twin-spar aluminium frame, the RS 660 is praised for its chassis: precise and forgiving for inSella, exemplary for Moto.it. The standard version uses a 41 mm Kayaba upside-down fork and shock adjustable for preload and rebound; the Factory, tested by most magazines, gets Öhlins units that Motorcyclist finds firm around town. Brembo radial brakes and cornering ABS are standard. Launch control is standard according to Aprilia France, optional on the standard version according to MCN.
Fuel consumption and maintenance
Aprilia does not publish the fuel consumption of the Euro 5+ version. Motorcyclist recorded about 6.2 L/100 km on the Factory. The service manual is only provided to owners with the frame number: service intervals could not be verified. The basic warranty is 2 years, extended to 4 years by an Aprilia offer valid until 1 November 2026.
Recalls
No recall affects the 2025 generation. In 2021, early RS 660s were recalled for a connecting rod with defective heat treatment (NHTSA 21V-502, Safety Gate A12/00116/22).
