Aprilia RX 125
2025 Aprilia RX 125: 15 hp A1 enduro, 21/18-inch wheels, 136 kg, €4,500. Full specs, press reviews, generations and rivals.
At a glance
The Aprilia RX 125 is a 125 cc enduro bike for A1 licence holders: a 15 hp (11 kW) four-stroke single, a 21-inch front wheel, a 41 mm upside-down fork and 136 kg kerb weight. The 2025 model year, still in the French range in 2026, sells for €4,500 in a single version, slightly less than the Yamaha WR125R. No review of this Euro 5+ version could be found; on the 2018 generation, the foreign press praised its light weight, agility and ABS, but criticised its very tall seat, knobby tyres with little road grip and a fork judged too soft.

Press ratings
2018 version (Euro 4): proper motorcycle riding position, linear engine, suspension well calibrated off-road, welcome ABS in the rain and low running costs; spongy front brake lever.
2018 version (Euro 4): vibration-free engine, predictable and secure handling, more fun than the RS and Tuono 125 and more versatile than the SX; soft non-adjustable fork, CST tyres vague on the road, hard seat, small hard-to-read LCD screen, no rear ABS.
2018 version (Euro 4): lively, flexible engine when revved, light and agile chassis, reassuring Bosch ABS; very tall seat, vague front end on the knobby CST tyres, shock firm for a light rider.
2018 version (Euro 4): more trail bike than enduro in use, vibrations reduced by the balancer shaft, more than adequate braking; suspension a little soft on the road, CST tyres to watch in the wet.
Euro 5 version (2022): a genuine enduro rather than a trail bike, good brakes, rather firm suspension; very tall seat and very poor CST tyre grip on tarmac.
Press synthesis
What the world’s press says
No review of the 2025 RX 125 (Euro 5+) could be found: MCN only published a news story. The reviews used here cover the 2018 version (Euro 4), which shared the current bike’s frame, basic engine, suspension and brakes, and the Euro 5 version for Moto125.cc (2022). The 75/100 meta-score rests on a single numeric score, Moto.it’s 7.5/10 for the 2018 RX 125; Bennetts BikeSocial, Visordown, Motociclismo.es and Moto125.cc do not give scores.
What reviewers like: a light, agile bike with predictable, reassuring handling (BikeSocial, Visordown); a “proper motorcycle” riding position and suspension well calibrated for off-road use (Moto.it); a vibration-free engine (BikeSocial), thanks to its balancer shaft according to Motociclismo.es; reassuring Bosch ABS (Visordown) that is welcome in the rain (Moto.it), and more than adequate braking (Motociclismo.es). For Moto125.cc it is a genuine enduro rather than a trail bike, and BikeSocial prefers it to the SX for its versatility.
What they criticise: a very tall 905 mm seat (Visordown, Moto125.cc) that is also hard (BikeSocial); knobby CST tyres that feel vague and lack grip on the road, especially in the wet (BikeSocial, Visordown, Motociclismo.es, Moto125.cc); a soft, non-adjustable fork (BikeSocial) and a shock that is firm for a light rider (Visordown); a spongy front brake lever (Moto.it) and ABS limited to the front wheel. The small LCD screen criticised in 2018 was replaced by a colour display in 2025.
Key quotes
"Of the pair, the RX125 makes more sense because with its off-road capacity it’s more versatile than the SX"
"The RX and SX have a light, lithe, simple honesty to them; and their ambitions (and handling) are perfectly in-line with the output of the engine. My teenage years are long gone, but I'm sold."
"So, in short Aprilia has done a bloody good job in reminding riders of what it feels to be 17 again."
"In the meantime, for those turning sixteen today, these two bikes really are a great way to start!"
"And if I were 16 again, one of these two models would surely be on my list of favourite bikes."
"It is a genuine enduro that brings back memories of the past."

Our review
Which RX 125 is on sale in 2026?
Aprilia France sells the 2025 model year RX 125, the only one listed on its website, in a single version. Unveiled at the EICMA show in Milan in November 2024, it builds on the 2021 bike with a Euro 5+ engine, completely redesigned bodywork, a shorter silencer with a matte black cover, full LED lighting and a colour digital dash. Two colours are available: Varanus Black (black and red) and Cubozoa White (white with purple graphics and red details). No 2026 version or replacement has been announced.
The RX 125 is the enduro member of Aprilia’s 125 family. Its sister, the SX 125, is a supermoto with 17-inch wheels built on the same base; the RS 125 and Tuono 125 share its displacement and power, but not its frame, which is aluminium on those bikes. According to Piaggio Group Japan, the RX 125 is built in China.
How much does it cost?
Aprilia France lists it at a recommended retail price of €4,500 including VAT, the same as in Italy and Germany. It costs slightly less than the Yamaha WR125R (€4,799); Fantic, Beta and SWM do not list prices on their websites. Until 31 October 2026, the Aprilia Days offer extends the warranty from 2 to 4 years. The RX 125 is not sold in the United States.
How good is the engine?
The 124.2 cc single (58 x 47 mm) is liquid-cooled, with double overhead camshafts, four valves, electronic fuel injection and a six-speed gearbox. Aprilia quotes 15 hp (11 kW) at 10,500 rpm and 11.4 Nm at 8,500 rpm in its technical specifications; the launch press release gives 11.5 Nm. According to Aprilia, the move to Euro 5+ cost nothing in performance. The 2021 version had received a new cylinder head, camshafts, intake and exhaust, an iridium spark plug and a Marelli MIUG4 ECU.
Aprilia publishes neither a top speed nor a fuel consumption figure for this version. In 2022, Moto125.cc recorded a true 109.1 km/h (119 km/h on the speedometer) with the Euro 5 version. The 2018 Euro 4 version was rated at 2.73 L/100 km. With only a 7-litre tank, range remains limited.
How does it ride?
The chassis is a true enduro design: steel twin-spar frame, steel swingarm, 41 mm upside-down fork with 240 mm of travel, and a progressive-linkage monoshock with preload adjustment (220 mm of travel according to the technical specifications, 210 mm according to the press release). The 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels carry 90/90-21 and 120/80-18 knobby tyres. Braking combines a 260 mm wave disc with a two-piston floating caliper and a 220 mm rear wave disc, with Bosch front-wheel ABS whose rollover-mitigation function limits rear-wheel lift. The seat stands at 905 mm and the wheelbase measures 1,425 mm.
On the 2018 version, Visordown and Bennetts BikeSocial described a light, agile and predictable bike; Moto.it praised suspension well calibrated for off-road use. The original CST tyres were judged vague on the road and insecure in the wet, and the fork a little soft (BikeSocial, Motociclismo.es). Aprilia does not specify the tyre brand fitted in 2025.
What equipment?
The equipment remains simple: no riding modes and no traction control. The new colour dash shows the gear engaged, maximum speed reached, two trip meters, average speed, trip time and instantaneous and average fuel consumption. Lighting is full LED, a skid plate protects the engine, and a USB socket, sold as an accessory, fits under the seat.
Who is it for?
Aprilia aims the RX 125 at young A1 licence riders from the age of 16; in France it can also be ridden on a car licence after the 7-hour training course. It suits riders who want a genuine lightweight off-road bike, usable in town and on trails. Its 905 mm seat does, however, call for long legs. For more road and less dirt, the Tuono 125 is the brand’s alternative.
Recalls
No recall could be found for the four-stroke RX 125 (2018 to 2025), either on RappelConso, in the European Safety Gate database or in the NHTSA database.

| Wind protection | None (enduro headlight plate) |
The RX 125 has an enduro riding position, upright with wide handlebars, and a seat 905 mm off the ground according to Aprilia. Visordown finds it very tall, as does Moto125.cc, and BikeSocial finds it hard; Moto.it, on the other hand, likes its “proper motorcycle” position. Its 136 kg kerb weight makes it easy to handle. It is homologated for two, with integrated passenger grab handles, but offers no wind protection beyond its headlight plate. On the 2018 version, Visordown found the shock firm for a light rider and BikeSocial the fork a little soft.

Warranty
2 years / Not specified; 4 years in total with the Aprilia offer valid until 31/10/2026
Aprilia does not publish the RX 125’s service schedule online: it is in the owner’s manual, which manuals.aprilia.com sends by email on presentation of the frame number. Oil change and valve clearance intervals are therefore unknown, and the 2025 version’s fuel consumption is not published. Aprilia France’s warranty is 24 months; until 31 October 2026, the Aprilia Days offer adds a further 24 months free of charge (4 years in total), provided services are carried out within the official network. X-Care extensions are sold at €144 for one year and €240 for two years. Moto.it listed limited running costs among the 2018 version’s strengths. No recall has been issued for the RX 125.
