Husqvarna 701 Enduro
2027 Husqvarna 701 Enduro: 79 hp single, 693 cc, 152 kg without fuel, €12,149. Full specs, press reviews and rivals.
At a glance
The Husqvarna 701 Enduro is a dual-sport bike, between enduro and adventure, powered by the 693 cc, 79 hp LC4 single it shares with the KTM 690 Enduro R, for 152 kg without fuel. Priced at €12,149 in France, it was fully revised for 2026 (Euro 5+ engine, TFT dash, cornering electronics), but the quickshifter and Rally mode remain optional. The four published reviews praise its engine, versatility and electronics, and criticise its high price, suspension settings and Offroad ABS that need work, and a cramped position for taller riders.

Press ratings
Sharp, precise road handling and powerful front brake; stock suspension settings make the bike deflect on big rocks, the Offroad ABS is too intrusive and the rear brake a bit spongy, but an extremely versatile dual sport once set up.
Very strong single, mature ergonomics, agile handling, fully adjustable suspension and improved electronics; tall seat, long first gear, front brake slightly undersized for hard road use, extra weight and paid options.
Smoother engine that is explosive at high revs, excellent electronics, strong brakes; high footpegs and cramped legs for tall riders, 6 kg heavier and a few electronic teething issues.
Press synthesis
What the world’s press says
Only four reviews of the 2026 generation have been published, all from Husqvarna’s press launch in Portugal in autumn 2025. The meta-score of 100/100 rests on a single numeric score, MCN’s 5/5. Cycle World, 1000PS and ADV Pulse tested it without a numeric score. No review of the 2026 generation has appeared in the French press.
What reviewers like: a powerful, controllable single, described by MCN as the most powerful in production; discreet, effective electronics, especially the Rally pack’s Dynamic Slip Adjust (MCN, Cycle World, ADV Pulse); a neutral, agile chassis on road and off (MCN, Cycle World, 1000PS); a long seat that lets the rider move around (MCN, ADV Pulse); service intervals stretched to 15,000 km (1000PS). For Cycle World, it is “the best of both worlds” once set up.
What they criticise: a high price and paid options, Quickshifter+ and Rally pack (MCN, 1000PS); stock suspension settings that make the bike deflect on big rocks and an overly intrusive Offroad ABS (Cycle World); a tall seat and high footpegs for taller riders (1000PS, ADV Pulse); extra weight (1000PS, ADV Pulse); a spongy rear brake (Cycle World) and a front brake that is a little weak in hard road use (1000PS).
Key quotes
"Make no mistake, the Husqvarna 701 Enduro is an astonishingly capable machine. It’s punchy, powerful and will demolish the roughest of trails at a class-leading level - in the right hands, of course."
"It isn’t worse for the compromises making it a do-it-all dual sport, it’s actually better for it. It’s the best of both worlds if you’re willing to pick up a few tools to make adjustments for your size and skill."
"The extensive update, especially to the electronics, makes the Husqvarna 701 Enduro an even better motorcycle, without betraying its genes."
"In the end, the 701 Enduro remains one of the most versatile big singles you can buy, delivering brute power, precision in the twisties or on the trail, and decent enough highway cruising for longer days in the saddle."

Our review
Which version and what price in France?
Husqvarna France offers a single version of the 701 Enduro, listed in its “Travel” range. The 2027 model year is priced at €12,149. The 2026 model year, identical according to the website’s spec sheets, was still offered in October 2026 at a promotional €11,649 instead of €12,649. The Quickshifter+ and Rally mode are options, with no price given on the French website. In the United States, the 701 Enduro costs $13,399 plus $800 freight. The 701 Enduro LR, a variant with extra tanks launched in 2020, is no longer in the range.
What changes with the 2026 generation?
Unveiled in September 2025, the 2026 generation is the biggest update in the 701 Enduro’s history. The LC4 single is revised for Euro 5+ and goes from 74 to 79 hp, with revised valve timing for more low-down torque, a higher-pressure fuel pump and a catalyst moved into the header pipe. Oil changes go from 10,000 to 15,000 km and valve checks to 30,000 km. The frame is stiffer, the fork gains travel, and the bike gets new bodywork, an LED headlight, a connected TFT dash, a USB-C socket, and cornering ABS and traction control. The 2027 model year carries over with no technical changes.
How good is the engine?
The 692.7 cc single (105 x 80 mm) makes 79 hp (58.1 kW) and 73 Nm. Husqvarna does not publish the corresponding engine speeds; Cycle World quotes 8,000 and 6,750 rpm. MCN describes it as the most powerful single currently in production. It gets ride-by-wire, twin-spark ignition and a hydraulically operated PASC slipper clutch, which MCN finds light. ADV Pulse finds it smoother than before thanks to new rubber engine mounts, and explosive at high revs. 1000PS regrets a slightly tall first gear. Husqvarna quotes 4.3 L/100 km without stating the test cycle, which would give a range of about 315 km from the 13.5-litre tank.
How does it ride?
The chromoly steel trellis frame is paired with a polyamide fuel tank that doubles as the rear subframe, which keeps the mass evenly distributed according to MCN. The 48 mm WP XPLOR upside-down fork offers 265 mm of travel and adjusts for compression and rebound without tools; the linkage-mounted WP XPLOR shock offers 250 mm and is fully adjustable. Brembo brakes pair a 300 mm front disc with a two-piston caliper. The bike weighs 152 kg without fuel (147 kg for the 2024 model year), and Husqvarna does not publish a wet weight.
The website and the owner’s manual differ: wheelbase of 1,506 or 1,494 mm, seat at 935 or 923 mm, tank of 13.5 or 13.2 litres, steering head angle of 62.3° or 62°.
MCN finds the chassis neutral and balanced both on and off road. Cycle World notes that the stock settings make the bike deflect on big rocks and need adjusting to the rider’s weight.
What electronics?
Street and Offroad modes are standard. The optional Rally mode unlocks the Slip Adjuster (adjustable slip from 0 to 9), Dynamic Slip Adjust, which temporarily allows more rear-wheel spin when the bike loses momentum on a climb, and adjustable MSR engine braking control. The Bosch ABS works in corners, its Offroad mode keeps only the front ABS, and a handlebar button switches it off. The bike has neither wheelie control nor cruise control. The 4.2-inch TFT dash connects via Bluetooth to the Ride Husqvarna app for calls, music and navigation.
Who is it for?
The 701 Enduro targets riders who want a light, powerful bike capable of long road stages and tough trails. Its 935 mm seat, with no screen or fairing, makes it best suited to experienced and rather tall riders. Its twin, the KTM 690 Enduro R, differs only in its bodywork and costs the same; the 701 Supermoto uses the same engine with 17-inch wheels.
Where does it come from?
The 701 Enduro appeared in 2016, shortly after KTM’s takeover of Husqvarna, based on the KTM 690 Enduro R. Its engine grew to 692.7 cc and 74 hp in 2017, then it gained ride modes and cornering aids in 2020 and Euro 5 compliance in 2021.
Reliability and recalls
No recall affects the 2026 generation (NHTSA, Safety Gate, RappelConso). The 2018 to 2020 model years were recalled in 2021 for a clutch slave cylinder, the 2020 701 Enduro LR for fuel lines that could chafe, and in the United States Continental TKC 80 tyres fitted to 2019 to 2021 701 Enduros.

The 701 Enduro offers an enduro riding position, upright, with a long flat seat that extends onto the radiator shrouds. MCN finds it broad and firm, and Cycle World likes being able to slide forward right up to the steering head. The seat stands at 935 mm according to the website (923 mm unladen according to the manual, 938 mm according to MCN), a height 1000PS considers tall. ADV Pulse finds the footpegs high: at 1.88 m, its tester had cramped legs and found the bar a little low when standing, but he feels average-height riders may not even notice. The tapered aluminium handlebar measures 28/22 mm in diameter. With no screen, wind hits the chest and head on the motorway according to ADV Pulse. The maximum permissible weight is 350 kg.
