Aprilia Tuono V4

2025 Aprilia Tuono V4: 1,099 cc V4 hyper-naked, 180 hp, 211 kg, €18,100 (Factory €21,100). Full specs, press reviews and rivals.

At a glance

The Aprilia Tuono V4 is the Noale brand's hyper-naked: a 1,099 cc, 180 hp 65-degree V4 derived from the RSV4 superbike, a twin-spar aluminium frame and a 211 kg kerb weight. Aprilia France sells it at €18,100 as a 2025 model with Sachs suspension, and at €21,100 as the 2026 Tuono V4 Factory with semi-active Öhlins suspension and full standard electronics; the base version costs less than a KTM 1390 Super Duke R or a Ducati Streetfighter V4. Reviewers, who have only tested the Factory, praise a chassis and electronics that make riding fast very easy, but note an engine that is a little reluctant at very low revs, less power than the best rivals and Öhlins suspension a generation behind.

What the world’s press says

Six tests of the current generation were found, all of the Tuono V4 Factory: no test of the base version has been published, nor any test of this generation in the French press. MCN, Moto.it and MOTORRAD rode it at Mugello in April 2025, 1000PS on road and track in September 2025, Motorcycle.com and Ultimate Motorcycling as a 2026 model in the United States. The 100/100 overall score rests on a single numeric score, MCN’s 5/5 (2025 Factory): the other five tests give no score, so it is not very representative. MCN also gives only 3/5 for reliability, recalling minor electrical issues on the previous generation.

What reviewers like: a light, stable chassis, with a front end giving crystal-clear feedback (MOTORRAD, MCN); a bike so easy to ride fast that MCN says it “almost feels like cheating”; comprehensive, well-calibrated electronics; electronic Öhlins suspension, excellent according to 1000PS; superbike behaviour in naked-bike clothing (Moto.it, 1000PS); a lower price than its rivals according to Motorcycle.com.

What they criticise: a V4 that is a little reluctant at very low revs (Moto.it, 1000PS); power that is no longer the class benchmark (MCN, Ultimate Motorcycling); Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension a generation behind, inconsistent adaptive wheelie control and annoying in-app purchases (Motorcycle.com); quick downshifts that sometimes hesitate and high fuel consumption (Ultimate Motorcycling); gear lever and rear brake rubbers that are slippery in the rain (Moto.it).

Our review

Which versions and prices in France?

Aprilia France sells two versions of the same generation, unveiled at EICMA in November 2024. The base Tuono V4 is in the range as a 2025 model, at €18,100 (recommended retail price), in Scorpion Yellow or Shark Grey. The Tuono V4 Factory is sold as a 2026 model at €21,100: this model year only brings the Shakedown Indigo livery, with no technical change. Aprilia’s website still shows “Tuono V4 1100” (the “1100” survives as the engine type), but the press release and spec sheets simply say Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory.

A time-limited offer, valid until 31 October 2026, gives €1,250 off the Tuono V4 and €1,500 off the Factory, and extends the warranty from 2 to 4 years. In the United States, the Tuono V4 costs $16,699 and the Factory $19,999. There is no A2 licence version.

What sets the two versions apart?

Both bikes share the engine, frame, brakes and weight: 211 kg kerb weight, with no published difference. The Tuono V4 gets a 43 mm Sachs upside-down fork (117 mm travel), a Sachs shock and a Sachs steering damper, all manually adjustable. The Factory moves to semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0: 43 mm NIX fork with TiN coating (120 mm), electronically controlled shock and steering damper. It offers 6 riding modes instead of 3 and includes the Track Pack and Comfort Pack as standard, which are options on the base version.

What changes with the 2025 generation?

The V4 grows from 1,077 to 1,099 cc, with 52 mm throttle bodies and a new exhaust, to meet the Euro 5+ standard. The fairing gets two overlapping winglets that add 2.5 kg of downforce at 250 km/h according to Aprilia. The aluminium frame is painted matte black for the first time. The APRC electronics gain predictive functions, the 5-inch TFT screen is revised, the switchgear is backlit and the battery is now lithium. MCN and MOTORRAD report a new shock linkage that raises the rear by 12 mm.

How good is the engine?

The 65-degree longitudinal V4 (81 x 53.32 mm) makes 180 hp (132.4 kW) at 11,800 rpm and 121 Nm at 9,650 rpm according to the spec sheets; the launch press release puts peak torque at 9,600 rpm. It gains 5 hp over the previous generation. Aprilia publishes neither the compression ratio nor a homologated fuel consumption figure for this generation: the 2021-2024 Tuono V4 Factory’s spec sheet quoted 7.2 L/100 km.

MCN finds the engine fuller and Ultimate Motorcycling finds it torquey and refined. Moto.it and 1000PS, however, find it a little reluctant at very low revs. MCN finds the Tuono V4 less powerful than the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S and the BMW M 1000 R, and Ultimate Motorcycling considers its power no longer the class benchmark.

What about the chassis?

The twin-spar aluminium frame is adjustable (steering head, engine height and swingarm pivot). Braking combines twin 330 mm floating discs and Brembo radial monobloc calipers with a 220 mm rear disc, with Bosch cornering ABS offering 3 maps. The Italian and German spec sheets name Brembo M50 front calipers, MOTORRAD Stylemas.

Aprilia publishes neither the geometry nor the tyres. Motorcycle.com gives a rake of 24.4°, trail of about 97 mm, a wheelbase of about 1,450 mm and 120/70 ZR17 and 190/55 ZR17 tyres (200/55 ZR17 on the Factory).

What electronics?

Standard equipment includes a 6-axis IMU, three riding modes, 8-level traction control, predictive wheelie control, adjustable engine braking and a two-way quickshifter. The Track Pack (launch control, pit limiter, ASC slide control, Race dashboard) and the Comfort Pack (cruise control, cornering lights) are standard on the Factory and bought in the Aprilia app on the Tuono V4; their price is not published. The Race Pack (corner-by-corner settings via GPS) is reserved for the Factory according to the launch press release, but Aprilia France’s packs page also lists it for the Tuono V4. Connectivity comes through the Aprilia MIA platform, a €149 accessory.

Which rivals?

Against the Tuono V4, the BMW S 1000 R is cheaper (€17,000) and lighter (199 kg) but less powerful (170 hp), while the KTM 1390 Super Duke R (190 hp, €20,749), the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS (183 hp, €20,195) and the Ducati Streetfighter V4 (214 hp, €25,290) are more powerful and more expensive than the base version. Its faired sister, the Aprilia RSV4, uses the same 1,099 cc V4 in a 220 hp version.

Which generations?

The 2011 Tuono V4 R was derived from the RSV4; the 2015 Tuono V4 1100 moved to 1,077 cc, the 2021 generation to Euro 5. No recall affects the current generation (NHTSA, RappelConso, Safety Gate).

Ergonomics & rider fit

Riding positionSporty naked: wide, high one-piece handlebar
Wind protectionFrame-mounted headlight fairing, smoked screen and double winglets

The Tuono V4 seats the rider at 836 mm, behind a wide, high one-piece handlebar, with a frame-mounted headlight fairing, a smoked screen and double winglets. Aprilia says hot air from the radiators is diverted away from the legs. MOTORRAD praises crystal-clear front-end feedback despite the high handlebar and surprising wind protection for a naked bike; Moto.it counts ergonomics among its strengths but finds the gear lever and rear brake rubbers slippery in the rain. The bike comes with a passenger seat and a single-seat tail cover. The tank holds 18 litres.
