Moto Guzzi Stelvio
2026 Moto Guzzi Stelvio: 115 hp adventure bike, 1,042 cc V-twin with shaft drive, 246 kg, €16,600. Full specs, press reviews and rivals.
At a glance
The Moto Guzzi Stelvio is a road-biased adventure bike with a 19-inch front wheel, powered by a 1,042 cc, 115 hp transverse V-twin with shaft drive. Priced at €16,600 (€17,400 for the radar-equipped PFF version), it matches the Ducati Multistrada V2 and sits well below the BMW R 1300 GS. Reviewers praise its character, comfort and handling, but criticise its 246 kg weight, its suspension and comfort equipment left as options (heated grips, quickshifter, connectivity).

Press ratings
Characterful engine, comfort and styling; not the most enthusiastic adventure bike on twisty roads, premium pricing, over-sensitive collision warning and a screen that vibrated on the test bike.
Short first ride on a pre-production bike, no off-road: remarkable aerodynamics, agile yet stable handling, communicative brakes; rubber-topped footpegs vague when standing.
Excellent, sporty road bike with strong torque and welcome shaft drive; no compression adjustment, heated grips optional, radar warning of little use, more road bike than off-roader.
Charismatic engine, stability and long-distance comfort; lacks low-down punch, harsh damping over small bumps, rough gearbox and optional quickshifter.
Styling, engine character, finish, suspension and agility; no storage pocket, optional centre stand and heated grips, non-adjustable seat, no self-cancelling indicators or hazard lights.
Beaten by the Ducati Multistrada V2 S (11 points to 13): styling, finish, engine character and road manners, but heavy at a standstill, more linear revving and a simpler dash.
Press synthesis
What the world’s press says
Eight reviews cover the generation launched in 2024, technically identical to the 2026 model year. Only two give a score: MCN 4/5 and BikeSocial 3/5. The 70/100 meta-score therefore rests on these two scores alone. Visordown, Cycle World (first ride on a pre-production bike), RevZilla Common Tread, 1000PS and Le Repaire des Motards (a review, then a comparison with the Ducati Multistrada V2 S) tested it without a numeric score.
What reviewers like: a V-twin full of character, great comfort and excellent aerodynamics, reassuring handling, shaft drive and a careful finish. Cycle World and Common Tread consider it the best Moto Guzzi ever built.
What they criticise: high weight (“heavy at a standstill” for Le Repaire des Motards), a fork that is soft in the first part of its stroke according to BikeSocial, harsh damping and a rough gearbox according to 1000PS, a PFF radar seen as of little use by BikeSocial and Common Tread, and equipment left as options (heated grips, quickshifter, connectivity). MCN sums it up: as good as its rivals in most areas, but not clearly better in any. In Le Repaire des Motards’ comparison, the Multistrada V2 S wins by 13 points to 11.
Key quotes
"However, what the Stelvio has that none of these rivals offer is an extra dollop of charm."
"So, if you look at the Stelvio as, effectively, Moto Guzzi’s first effort at a modern adventure bike, it’s a bloody good effort. It’s comfy, it’s quick enough, it handles (with a bit of tinkering) and it feels modern."
"It has heaps of character a lot of other bikes in the segment would kill for, but by going for a more interesting choice like the Stelvio, you won’t have to put up with any annoying compromises."
"Not enough time for a full evaluation (expect a full test when we get a bike Stateside), but enough to know that this is the best Moto Guzzi ever to come off a production line."
"The Stelvio is the best Moto Guzzi I've ever ridden, and it will absolutely poach customers from other brands."
"Living up to its lineage is always a challenge. The new Moto Guzzi Stelvio takes it up with panache."

Our review
Which Stelvio in France?
Moto Guzzi France offers three versions. The Stelvio costs €16,600 (recommended price), the Stelvio PFF Rider Assistance Solution €17,400 and the Stelvio Duecento Tributo €18,900. Until 31 October 2026, a €1,250 discount brings these prices down to €15,350, €16,150 and €17,650, with a free two-year warranty extension. In the United States, the Stelvio (2027 model year) is listed at $16,990 and the PFF at $17,590.
The PFF version adds two radars, front and rear, which handle forward collision warning, blind spot detection and lane change assist; the front radar also allows an adaptive cruise control (FCC) to be fitted as an accessory. The Duecento Tributo, a 2025 model year, is a limited edition numbered to 2,758 units on the PFF base, finished in white, red and blue, with quickshifter, MIA connectivity, tyre pressure monitoring, heated grips and seats and a centre stand. It weighs 226 kg dry. A 105th Anniversary special edition was announced in September 2026 but is not yet on the French website.
What is the 2026 model year?
The current Stelvio was unveiled at EICMA 2023 and went on sale in 2024. The 2026 model year only changes the colours: Grigio Climbing (grey) and Verde Hiking (green), with new graphics. The spec sheet is unchanged since 2024. The French website sometimes calls it the “Stelvio 1000”.
How good is the engine?
The 1,042 cc 90° transverse V-twin, derived from the V100 Mandello’s, is liquid-cooled, with double overhead camshafts, finger rockers and four valves per cylinder. The French spec sheet quotes 115 hp (84.6 kW) at 8,800 rpm; the Italian spec sheet and the press kit give 8,700 rpm. Torque peaks at 105 Nm at 6,750 rpm, 82% of it available from 3,500 rpm, and the limiter cuts in at 9,500 rpm. The engine is Euro 5+ approved. The gearbox has six speeds, the clutch is hydraulic with a slipper function, and final drive is by shaft housed in an aluminium single-sided swingarm.
MCN finds it willing and distinctive, 1000PS charismatic but a little flat at low revs. 1000PS also finds the gearbox rough.
How does it ride?
The tubular steel frame uses the engine as a stressed member. Steering head angle is 25.6° and wheelbase 1,520 mm. Moto Guzzi does not publish the trail: Ultimate Motorcycling gives 4.6 inches (about 117 mm) and the 1000PS spec database 116.4 mm. Ground clearance and top speed are not published. The 46 mm Sachs upside-down fork and the KYB shock offer 170 mm of travel. The 19- and 17-inch tubeless spoked wheels wear Michelin Anakee Adventure tyres. Braking combines twin 320 mm discs and Brembo radial monobloc calipers.
MCN finds the handling reassuring. BikeSocial finds the fork too soft in the first part of its stroke until the preload is adjusted, and 1000PS the damping harsh over small bumps. Cycle World notes agile yet stable handling.
What equipment?
The Stelvio gets a six-axis IMU, Continental cornering ABS, five riding modes, four-level traction control, adjustable engine braking, cruise control, a 5-inch TFT screen, an electrically adjustable windscreen and LED lighting with cornering lights. The quickshifter, MIA connectivity and tyre pressure monitoring are optional.
Fuel consumption and maintenance
Moto Guzzi quotes 5.1 L/100 km, giving a range of about 410 km from the 21-litre tank. MCN and BikeSocial recorded 50 and 49.4 UK mpg on the trip computer, i.e. 5.6 to 5.7 L/100 km. The press kit specifies a service every 12,000 km. The warranty is 2 years.
Who is it for?
The Stelvio is aimed at travellers who ride mostly on the road and want an adventure bike with strong character, shaft drive and good protection. It requires a full A licence: no A2 version is offered.
Generations
The name revives the Stelvio 1200 (2008-2016), an adventure bike with a 1,151 cc air/oil-cooled V-twin, with no technical link to the current model.
No recall affects the current generation (NHTSA, RappelConso, Safety Gate).

The windscreen adjusts electrically over 70 mm, up to 150 km/h, and hand guards are fitted. MCN finds it extremely comfortable, but BikeSocial notes turbulence and Visordown a screen that vibrated on its test bike. Cycle World finds the rubber-topped footpegs vague when standing, and Le Repaire des Motards finds it heavy at a standstill.
